Santa Fe farm was proud to be the farm selected for the training of Rupununi farmers from villages, Rukumuta, Karasabai, Taushida, Tiger pond, Kokshebai and Pai Pang.

The training was done by Guyana Livestock Development Authority (GLDA) and National Agriculture Research Extension (NAREI).

Subjects covered:

Livestock (GLDA) – Breeds of animals, housing, pasture development, restraining of animals, and animal nutrition.

Crops (NAREI) – Compost making, agronomy of onions, irrigation of crops and seed bed preparation.

The joint team of 10 persons was headed by Vet Dr. Darren Halley.

Several members of the Santa Fe Team participated in the training.
